Seifried
The Seifried story began in 1973, when Hermann and Agnes Seifried had a dream of making wines in Nelson. New Zealand’s sunshine capital, Nelson is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with the Tasman Sea to the north. The climate is temperate, with an average of 2,700 sunshine hours a year. Today, the next generation — led by Chris, Heidi and Anna Seifried — plays a central part, working with 325 hectares of sustainably-managed vineyards across 10 locations. Such a range of terroirs offers exciting opportunities in the blending phase, working with different expressions of each grape variety. In 2014, Hermann and Agnes were made Fellows of New Zealand Winegrowers, acknowledgement of the tremendous contribution they have made to the New Zealand wine industry.
